To read Scripture before social media, choose a small daily moment, begin with one focused passage, and use optional app pausing only when it supports your own rhythm.
-
Choose a small, repeatable moment
Pick a time when you usually reach for social media, such as the first few minutes of the morning or a quiet break. A short daily rhythm is easier to return to than an ambitious plan.
-
Open one passage before opening distracting apps
Pause for Scripture offers a focused daily passage with a short guide. Read or listen first, then save any verse you want to revisit later.
-
Use optional app pausing only when it helps
On supported iPhone versions, Pause for Scripture can use Screen Time authorization for optional app pausing. Select only the apps or categories you want to pause, and review the settings carefully.
-
Keep an easy way to change course
A focus aid should remain voluntary. You can decline Screen Time authorization, turn off blocking, or change your selected apps when your circumstances require it.
-
Treat the routine as an invitation, not a guarantee
Screen Time features can be affected by permissions, device changes, system updates, and other conditions. Do not rely on app pausing when uninterrupted access may be needed for safety, navigation, communication, caregiving, work, or an emergency.
Common questions
Does Pause for Scripture require an account?⌄
No. Pause for Scripture does not require an account. Your reflections, saved items, Scripture habit, and Screen Time choices stay on your device.
Does the app automatically block every social media app?⌄
No. App pausing is optional and requires your explicit Screen Time authorization. You decide which supported apps or categories to select, and you can change or turn off the setting.
Is app pausing a parental-control or safety feature?⌄
No. It is a voluntary personal focus aid. It is not an emergency service, parental-control guarantee, medical treatment, or safety-critical control.
What happens to the apps I select?⌄
Apple Family Controls uses opaque selection tokens rather than giving Pause for Scripture a readable list of your selected apps. Those tokens stay locally on your device and are not sent to Burrito Studio's public content service.
