Choose the privacy approach that fits
An app may contain personal messages, dating profiles, or other sensitive information. Decide whether you want to protect access, reduce visible icons, or use an automatic rule at certain places or times.

Understand Apple's built-in option
On supported iOS versions, touch and hold an eligible app and choose the option to require authentication and hide it. Apple stores hidden apps in a protected Hidden folder in App Library. Some apps cannot be hidden this way.

Know what removing an icon does
Removing an app from the Home Screen does not delete it and is not the same as hiding it. The app may still be available in App Library or search.

Set an automatic privacy rule
Focus Lock offers location-based and scheduled hiding for selected apps. A location privacy rule needs location and Screen Time authorization; scheduled hiding runs during the days and times you configure.

Check privacy beyond the icon
Review notification previews, account and purchase history, and shared-device settings separately. Test the behavior on your own device: hiding is not a guarantee that all traces of an app disappear.
